POSITION SUMMARY
Insilico Medicine is seeking a US Public Relations & Communications Manager to strengthen the company’s communications, media relations, and brand presence in the United States. This role will develop compelling external communications, cultivate relationships with key media and industry stakeholders, and manage the company’s presence across major social media platforms.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and communicator who can translate complex scientific, technology, and business information into clear, engaging stories for a range of audiences. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with US media relations and social media management, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, healthcare, technology, or another fast-growing industry.
This individual will collaborate with company leadership and cross-functional partners across Business Development, Clinical Development, R&D, Human Resources, and other functions to communicate Insilico Medicine’s scientific progress, business milestones, partnerships, and broader corporate story.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft and prepare press releases, media kits, company announcements, talking points, FAQs, briefing documents, and other public relations materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with US journalists, editors, media outlets, analysts, and industry influencers, particularly across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, AI, and technology sectors.
- Conduct proactive media outreach and identify opportunities to increase Insilico Medicine’s visibility and communicate its scientific, technology, and corporate story.
- Coordinate media interviews, executive briefings, contributed articles, speaking opportunities, and other external engagements.
- Manage and help grow Insilico Medicine’s social media presence across X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Reddit, including content planning, development, publishing, and engagement.
- Develop social media campaigns supporting corporate announcements, scientific milestones, partnerships, conferences, product and platform developments, and other key initiatives.
- Write and edit thought leadership articles, executive communications, opinion pieces, executive talking points, presentations, and other high-impact content.
- Partner with executives and subject-matter experts to translate complex scientific and technical information into compelling communications for specialized and general audiences.
- Support communications for product and platform launches, clinical and research milestones, licensing and business development announcements, corporate partnerships, conferences, events, and other company initiatives.
- Help develop communications strategies and messaging that reinforce Insilico Medicine’s positioning at the intersection of generative AI, biotechnology, drug discovery, and pharmaceutical R&D.
- Monitor media coverage, social media activity, industry conversations, and emerging issues relevant to the company.
- Track communications and social media performance and provide reports and insights on media coverage, engagement, reach, sentiment, and campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain communications calendars and support consistent messaging and coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
- Support reputation management and communications planning for sensitive or rapidly developing issues, as needed.
- Collaborate with global communications colleagues to align US communications with broader corporate messaging while ensuring relevance for US audiences.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or a related communications role.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with US media, journalists, and external communications channels.
- Strong understanding of social media strategy and direct experience managing corporate accounts, particularly LinkedIn and X; experience with YouTube and Reddit is highly desirable.
- Exceptional written, verbal, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Experience developing press releases, executive communications, thought leadership content, social media content, and other external communications.
- Background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, artificial intelligence, technology, or another fast-paced, innovation-driven industry strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand and communicate scientific and technical concepts to both specialized and general audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Comfort working directly with senior executives and subject-matter experts.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, discretion, and ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, global organization.
- Experience working across cultures and with international teams is a plus.
