Description
Come build the future with us. JP Payments creates foundational systems and products that enable Amazon to accept payments for all goods, content, and services purchased on Amazon.co.jp. Our mission is to delight customers by building payment experiences and financial services that are trusted, valued, and easy to use.We are looking for a Product Manager to own and grow Amazon Japan's installments portfolio. Japanese customers have a strong preference for
flexible, interest-free payment options on high-ticket purchases, and competing retailers already offer this at scale. The opportunity for Amazon is significant, and your job is to capture it.
Key job responsibilities
What you'll own
- Product strategy and roadmap for JP installments programs
- Customer experience for installment discovery, eligibility, and checkout
- Payment method expansion (Credit Cards, BNPL, Amazon Credit Line, Partner Payment Products)
- Customer engagement programs to grow adoption and lifetime value
- Partnerships with Japanese issuers, networks, and financing partners
- Customer active rate, spend per active customer, and overall program growth goals
This role owns the customer-facing installments product strategy: expanding payment method coverage, growing program adoption, improving the customer experience, and partnering with Japanese issuers and financial partners to unlock new capabilities. You will define the roadmap, set goals, and drive execution across a cross-functional team spanning engineering, design, data science, and external financial partners.
Experimentation is at the heart of our culture. You will run a comprehensive test-and-learn approach to validate hypotheses, scale what works, and make
data-driven decisions about where to invest. You will work closely with the Worldwide Installments team, JP Payments leadership, and external Japanese
payment partners to deliver measurable customer and business impact.
A day in the life
You start the day reviewing customer active rate and spend per active customer trends, then sync with your Bangalore engineering team on a new platform capability. Mid-morning, you meet a Japanese issuer partner in Tokyo to align on integration plans, drafting follow-ups in Japanese. In the afternoon, you review a new installment checkout experience with UX, then write a one-page narrative for leadership on the H2 roadmap. You'll spend your time across external Japanese partners, customer experience, data and strategy, and stakeholder alignment across Tokyo, Bangalore, and Seattle.
