Job description
Lead and drive the product marketing strategy across Motul's full portfolio in Central America. Accountable for brand positioning, product portfolio management, pricing strategy, product communication, and profitable market share growth. Ensure strong alignment between regional needs and global strategy while delivering best-in-class product launches and lifecycle management across all categories
1. Product Strategy
- Define and execute the regional product strategy and roadmap (launches, phase-in/phase-out) aligned with HQ.
- Identify market opportunities and lead requests for new products, packaging, or adaptations.
- Analyze market trends, competitors, and pricing to build effective local strategies.
- Own product performance planning: annual strategy, budget cycles, and regular business reviews.
- Approve product/SKU launches based on market potential, volumes, and profitability.
- Manage and optimize product launch budgets across countries and sub-regions.
2. Product Marketing & Launches
- Adapt global product positioning and campaigns to regional market needs.
- Define compelling USPs and translate them into effective go-to-market plans.
- Lead end-to-end product launches in collaboration with HQ, marketing, and agencies.
- Ensure consistency between regional strategy and local trade marketing execution.
- Define and maintain coherent pricing strategies aligned with brand positioning and margin targets.
- Support the creation of high-quality product content across digital platforms.
3. Portfolio Management
- Optimize the product portfolio to maximize growth, profitability, and market relevance.
- Monitor market size, addressable demand, and market share evolution.
- Support sales teams and distributors in defining product offering and commercial initiatives.
- Lead product lifecycle management, including launches and discontinuations.
- Coordinate product homologation and regulatory requirements with HQ and local partners.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the main regional interface with HQ for all product-related topics.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Technical, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Marketing teams.
- Contribute to S&OP by providing product insights to improve demand forecasting.
- Ensure product data accuracy across tools and platforms.
- Lead product knowledge sharing and training strategies (technical and commercial).
- Maintain visibility on competitive landscape, innovations, and category trends.
Profile
Education
- Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Product Marketing, Pricing, or Brand Management are an advantage
Professional Experience
- 5-8+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or category management
- Experience managing full product lifecycles (launch, growth, phase-out)
- Proven track record in pricing strategy, portfolio management, and go-to-market execution
- Experience working in regional or international environments, ideally across central America markets
- Background in automotive, lubricants, FMCG, or technical B2B/B2C industries is highly preferred
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Sales, Technical, Supply Chain, Marketing) and global HQ structures
- Demonstrated ability to manage product launches and marketing campaigns end-to-end
