About the Role
We are hiring a Product Manager to support the development of a large-scale ecommerce and customer engagement platform operating across multiple markets in Asia-Pacific.
This role is focused on driving product improvements through UX research, customer insights, and data, rather than owning product strategy or roadmap definition. You will work closely with senior product leaders, UX partners, and engineering teams to ensure customer needs-particularly in Japan-are effectively translated into product enhancements.
This is an ideal role for a hands-on, insight-driven Product Manager who enjoys working at the intersection of UX, data, and product execution within a global, enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Insights & UX Research
- Collaborate with UX research agencies and internal UX teams to define research objectives and scope
- Translate user research, usability testing, and interviews into actionable product opportunities
- Analyze Voice of Customer (VOC) data (reviews, surveys, customer feedback tools)
- Leverage analytics and AI tools to identify patterns, behaviors, and unmet needs
- Ensure insights are aligned with local customer expectations in Japan
Product Input & Opportunity Identification
- Convert insights into problem statements, hypotheses, and opportunity areas
- Build data-driven business cases to support UX and product improvements
- Use funnel and behavioral data to identify conversion gaps and friction points
- Provide structured input to product roadmap discussions
Execution & Delivery Support
- Create and maintain:
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Product documentation (Confluence or similar)
- Translate requirements into clear development tasks (Jira or similar tools)
- Collaborate with engineering teams in Agile environments
- Ensure alignment with enterprise systems (CMS, PIM, ecommerce platforms)
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor performance of features and UX improvements
- Track key metrics across the customer journey (discovery → PDP → checkout)
- Support post-launch analysis and identify opportunities for optimization and iteration
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, CRM, and Digital teams
- Collaborate with external UX research partners
- Align local market insights with regional and global stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Experience in UX research, customer insights, or usability-focused product roles
- Hands-on experience supporting delivery in Agile development environments
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset
- Experience with digital products or ecommerce platforms
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English
Nice to Have
- Experience working with UX agencies or external vendors
- Familiarity with CMS, PIM, or enterprise ecommerce platforms
- Exposure to VOC tools, analytics platforms, or AI-based insights
- Retail, ecommerce, or consumer-focused digital experience in Japan
