Organization Overview: The mission of The Capital Collective is to prepare “missing middle” businesses to scale and find the right capital at the right time.
Position Overview: The Marketing & Social Media Intern will support The Capital Collective's marketing efforts, with a primary focus on growing and managing our social media presence. This role will help enhance the organization's online visibility and engagement, while also contributing to marketing materials, content, speaking opportunities, and campaigns across the organization. This internship offers hands-on marketing and social media experience within a mission-driven, non-profit environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media
Lead day-to-day posting and audience engagement across LinkedIn, Instagram, and other channels as added
Develop and share engaging, on-brand content across all social platforms
Schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to comments and messages
Track and analyze social media performance metrics, and report on key trends
Collaborate with the marketing team to shape overall social media strategy and outreach
Marketing & Market Research
Assist in creating marketing materials, including signage, email campaigns, flyers, newsletters, and online promotions
Assist with the distribution and delivery of marketing materials
Assist with website updates and maintenance
Gather and prepare content and photos for blog posts, grant reports, and e-newsletters
Interview internal and external stakeholders to surface stories that highlight the impact of our programs and initiatives
Work with our public affairs contractor to support speaking opportunities and publicity efforts
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support program design and inform client and participant recommendations.
Requirements
- Strong writing and storytelling ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Prior experience with Canva
- Experience with Claude AI
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms and trends
- Comfortable conducting interviews with The Capital Collective stakeholders
- Strong emotional intelligence and a professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Genuine interest in and respect for The Capital Collective's history, mission, and organizational culture
- Openness to and respect for diverse perspectives and backgrounds
