Description
What you will do:- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Röhlig's core-carrier program. Analyze FCL business on the defined trade lane, analyze spend profile, seek opportunities to improve efficiency and value
- Select key carriers and develop/maintain contracts, negotiate with carriers with a view to improving margins: bundle volumes, negotiations of VID's, and reciprocal agreements
- Develop and maintain relationships at regional & global level for selected carriers including quarterly review meetings
- Provide transparent reporting of the trade lane carrier developments for the company network and build and maintain the relationship to the network
- Ensure visibility of FCL rates through company's designed global rate engine for the purpose of providing visibility of rates globally
- Active budget planning and steering of budget achievement for the applicable trade lane business
- Collaborating with Sales team in developing solutions and driving business growth
- Leads various "Global Sea Freight Initiatives" to further develop and grow Global Sea Freight product functionality
- Drives FAK policy for responsible trade
- Manage and set up allocations for responsible trade
- Build strong relationships and profile to National Sea Freight Managers
- Ability to price to market and provide strategic selling
- Ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and standards (e.g. Code of Conduct, FCPA etc.)
What you bring:
- Comprehensive understanding of the sea freight forwarding market, professional experience in sea freight procurement and experienced in finding the right solutions for the customer
- Entrepreneurial capability: strong negotiation skills, accountability, thinks strategically & appreciates a long-term development, highly engaging
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- High competence in use of MS Office suite, BI Frontend, data analytics and the capacity to learn new packages and tools
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail
- Independent working style and able to use virtual means of communication
