As the Associate Director, Product Marketing, you will be responsible for the global portfolio strategy for clinical chemistry supporting business to business and business to customer assays and will be responsible for a team that translates market needs into product inputs. Through your leadership, you will establish best practices for primary market research projects, secondary market research projects, P&L models, market analysis deep dives, pricing strategies and global go to market execution. You will analyze team member data and makes strategic recommendations for the portfolio striking the right balance between short- and long-term business needs. Key responsibilities will also include recommending pricing strategies and monitoring expenditures, as well as driving portfolio success measured in revenue, expansion, and margin. In addition, you will ensure that your direct reports serve effectively as project leaders on cross-functional team interfacing with product development, production, and manufacturing to develop new product solutions from idea through launched globally.
Will perform some or all of the following:
Strategic Planning and portfolio management:
Serve as portfolio champion for strategic planning cycle and throughout the year
Manage product management team through yearly strategic plan for their products to completion of longer-term strategy and company product roadmap to ensure long term business
Coach team on strategic planning tools (market overview, product rationalization, and other tools) to ensure data driven strategic recommendations.
Lead team to uncover emerging customer needs and stay in-tune with changing marketing dynamics
Coach team to utilize structured VoC approaches to drive data-based product decisions.
Serve as the clinical chemistry and core technologies business owner managing a team of product managers that:
Partner with the head of Marketing to create a forward-looking growth plan for the business and champion execution to achieve plan
Manage the execution of product lifecycle from idea to development to end of life and/or product enhancements for all marketing deliverables
Deliver new products to market according to project timelines, cost estimates, and achieving revenue expectations for new products
Effectively communicate new product development activity results to executive leadership team
Assist in the development and execution of global go to market plans in collaboration with senior sales and regional commercial marketing leaders
Develop clear and actionable segmentation models for customers and markets
Anticipate competitive threats or opportunities compiling valuable competitive intelligence that facilitates engaging value propositions from competitors
Global Market portfolio expertise that includes:
Strong understanding of our customers, competitive information, technologies, and healthcare trends for entire portfolio of products leveraging direct reports expertise
Serve as global portfolio subject matter expert
Assist in driving a user-centric and data-driven approach to solving customer problems globally
Develop global KOL activities and scientific advisory boards as needed
Participate in key scientific conferences and meetings

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Science (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience preferred
12-15 years of combined clinical diagnostic and marketing experience (minimum of 7 years product marketing experience preferred)
Demonstrated success in performing at a high level in product marketing
Previous experience operating in a global, matrix environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing marketing content
Strong communication and analytical skills
Must be both results-driven and customer-focused (internal and external)
Demonstrated success in executing established priorities and meeting deadlines
Must work effectively with others in team environment
Proven ability to interact with many different functional areas and different levels both within and outside the organization (i.e.: distribution partners and customers)
Ability to travel (up to 25%) may be necessary
About Sekisui Diagnostics
The company develops, manufactures, and distributes in vitro diagnostic products, including point-of-care tests. It produces diagnostic intermediates, or raw materials such as enzymes and antibodies, that are used internally and sold to other diagnostic and research firms. Sekisui Diagnostics also makes reagents, or basic chemical ingredients, for tests to detect conditions such as diabetes and pancreatitis. The company's point-of-care (rapid result) products include tests for flu and pregnancy. Japan's Sekisui Chemical acquired the business from former parent Genzyme in 2011.
