Bowdoin College seeks a sophisticated and experienced marketing and communications professional with a background in direct mail, email, and social media marketing. This person will manage all messaging and marketing projects for the Annual Fund, using applied analytics to develop strategies to successfully achieve goals. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director of Annual Giving, Marketing Strategist will join one of the most successful annual giving teams in the nation as Bowdoin embarks on the public phase of a comprehensive fundraising campaign. This Marketing Strategist will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized communications and further advancing Bowdoin’s high rates of alumni participation in giving. Successful candidates may be a current non-profit or for-profit professional with transferable skills.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. The successful applicant is a sophisticated communicator with demonstrated success in marketing for product and strong analytical skills with experience in applied data analysis. Applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with teammates and colleagues across departments, especially our partners in Communications; a positive attitude, energy and drive to meet goals, and curiosity.
A minimum of five years of professional work experience in marketing and communications is required. Experience in nonprofits/higher education is not required; successful candidates may be a current non-profit or for-profit professional with transferable skills.
This is an exempt position requiring time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional work after 5 p.m. or weekends. Travel is required.
