Unpaid Internship Opportunities for the Marketing Department

Prepare for a Career in College Athletics The Wake Forest Marketing Department is seeking individuals to participate in our 6-month unpaid internship program. Our program provides an outstanding opportunity to learn fundamental marketing strategy and operations from a talented marketing team committed to promoting our 16 varsity sports. The Demon Deacon Marketing Department is committed to ensuring that each intern receives valuable experience through a variety of special projects and day-to-day interaction including Student Engagement, Graphic Design, Postseason/Championships, and Fan Experience.
- Student Engagement – Special focus on projects/programs that will boost student interest, enthusiasm, and attendance.
- Graphic Design – Creative use of graphics in various print, digital, and social media.
- Postseason/Championships – Work closely with the Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications & Championships on upcoming Wake Forest postseason events with a focus on the 2019 NCAA Field Hockey National Championship.
- Fan Experience – Assist marketing staff with enhancing the fan experience through game preparation, advertising, and in-game promotions.
Learning opportunities include:
Student and on-campus marketing initiatives and execution of basketball marketing plan. Learning advertising plans and graphic design for events at LJVM Coliseum.
Creation of marketing plans for spring sports (tennis and baseball), coordination of spring sports promotional video and graphics, marketing planning for the football Spring Game, completion of the men’s and women’s basketball marketing plan
Completion of the Spring sports implementation, creating of the football summer awareness campaign and future planning for football and fall sports 2020.
Interns will leave the program with a thorough understanding of how a collegiate marketing office operates in a Power 5 conference school, fully prepared for the next step in their career.
