Chesapeake Arena, home of the Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking an experienced individual to join a dynamic marketing team to promote all events coming to the Chesapeake Arena & the Cox Convention Center. We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate marketing individual who is resourceful, motivated, committed, and innovative and approaches everything with a positive attitude. The Marketing Manager will create and implement marketing programs, including promotional campaigns, social media, and interactive marketing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Creative Campaigns and Promotions
Coordinates and implements promotional campaigns for event and company exposure.
Leads brainstorming efforts to produce creative promotions.
Develops strategies to boost ticket sales and generate additional event promotion.
Establish relationships within the community including but not limited to: local entertainment writers/reporters, local charity organizations and local colleges.
Manages and directs grassroots and viral efforts.
Plans and conducts market research to identify promotional opportunities.
Oversees social media platforms and strategies.
Builds content calendar and runs special promotions across digital platforms.
Updates and manages website.
Coordinates and places advertising campaigns for a variety of clients including concerts, family events, consumer shows, comedy shows and other events as required.
Prepares advertising budgets for prospective shows.
Prepares invoicing for event settlements.
Negotiates best rates and trade agreements with local media outlets.
Offers assistance to promoters looking to place advertising for upcoming events.
Supports Box Office with email communications, group sales collateral and special offer campaigns as needed.
Assists Director of Marketing with regional and national public relations campaigns, along with coordinating media and press during events.
Assists Director of Marketing as needed with marketing campaigns for the facilities.
Assists with management, development, production and distribution of promotional and collateral materials to support sales and marketing programs.
Drives data and analytic results for higher exposure and conversion.
Provides post event reports, analysis and regular status reports on marketing programs.
Maintains at all time, high standards, positive attitude and professional appearance.

Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field preferred 2-5 years of experience in marketing, public relations or a related field. - Arena Industry experience a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Experience negotiating media schedules and promotions.
Experience marketing concerts, sports, or similar product.
Able to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
A strong communicator: be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format to management and staff as well as to all types of clients.
Organized, able to prioritize and have strong time management skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities.
Copy editing skills is a plus.
Ability to think "outside the box" and come up with creative ideas to set the Chesapeake Arena and Cox Convention Center apart.
Demonstrate high level of energy and a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation and a very strong work ethic.
Must thrive in a team environment.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain quality working relationships with several internal departments, especially sales and booking staff, as well as external tenant teams and media partners.
Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
MS Office knowledge required.
Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.
Operate a computer using Windows, Office, and other standard equipment.
