To learn more about the Haas School visit: http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/haas/about/employment.html The Office of Marketing and Communications designs and implements a comprehensive, unified marketing and communications effort for the Haas School of Business and its degree and non-degree instructional programs, research centers, public service activities, and external relations activities. The Office is responsible for managing the Haas School/UC Berkeley brand image by providing strategic marketing and communications advice and planning to the Dean, the Dean’s Council, program directors, other senior staff and faculty throughout the School. The Office is also responsible for developing and managing a broad range of initiatives in marketing, print and digital communications, media relations, and community relations to promote greater external understanding and recognition of the Haas School’s contributions. The Email Marketing Manager is a top contributor toward building consideration and preference for the Berkeley MBA, and other degree programs, by providing personalized marketing outreach that increases prospective student engagement. S/he will use industry proven techniques to increase open and click-thru rates and persuasiveness, to develop email reporting to track KPIs and business metrics on a regular basis to uncover actionable trends and insights. The position reports to the Director of Marketing & Technology.

•Meets and consults with clients on a variety of electronic communications projects including moderately complex assignments, and develops, presents, and recommends web content and visual material. •Works with management and clients to create, develop, and implement short- and long-term strategic email marketing plans that engage and nurture prospective students through the customer journey. •Works closely with colleagues on the Haas Marketing and Communications team, internal clients, and/or vendor partners to create, write and deploy segmented, personalized email campaigns that increase prospective student engagement with Berkeley Haas degree programs. •Accountable for ensuring technical accuracy and understandability of website content. •Maintains Berkeley Haas brand across all programs, campaigns and projects. •Helps to develop Haas School policies, style guides and standards in all marketing material. •Develop, update and distribute email reporting that tracks KPIs and business metrics on a regular basis to uncover actionable trends and insights. •Develop and execute A/B tests and monitor results to improve and optimize future campaigns. •Maintains currency with emerging and state-of-the-art technical and other web-related equipment, requirements and developments (for example, accessibility issues) and recommends and as directed, takes action to ensure compliance. •Partner with lead conversion and web teams to develop email acquisition tactics. •Continued responsibility for email list health management.•2-5 years of demonstrated experience in email or content marketing. •Experienced in email marketing techniques that improve open rate and engagement. •Thorough knowledge of different tactics for top and mid-funnel executions. •Demonstrated experience developing effective content that appeals to diverse populations– including historically marginalized communities. •Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, editorial style, and punctuation, including skill to write in a clear and lively style. •Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work. •Thorough knowledge of content management systems and/or relevant web applications used for email distribution, and campus-specific computer application programs. •Thorough skills to create clear, easy-to-navigate, informative, accurate, well-designed, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the campus message and in keeping with management directives and client objectives. •Thorough understanding of institutional processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communications. •Thorough technical skills in computer applications for email production, workflow development, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and/or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities. •Thorough skills to monitor and assess processes or services and make necessary improvements. •Thorough interpersonal communication skills. •Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems. Education/Training: •Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. |
