The Marketing Finance Analyst specifically ensures the marketing budget is being spent as planned, within targets, and in full communication and alignment with stakeholders.This is a critical operational position that exercises independent judgement and discretion when making financial commitments on behalf of the marketing department. This role, although under the Marketing organization, works closely with the Finance team, and as such, will enable professional development in both areas.RESPONSIBILITIES:Budgeting/AnalysisIndependently create and maintain the marketing budget of over four million dollars. Analyze and reconcile the monthly budget prepared by Finance. Keep management appraised as to spending vs. budget and make suggestions as to necessary action.Analyze quarterly advertising and print spending; create financial reconciliations for nearly sixty different degree plans with an advertising budget of a million dollars. Prepare ad hoc financial reconciliations as needed.Compile salary data and make projection models based on potential staffing needs as outlined by the senior director.Prepare department time tracking documents and analyze and report on how time is spent.Media Procurement/PurchasingResponsible for media contact and ad placement in both print and online. Negotiate placements and cost, obtain specifications. Make financial commitments for advertising spend.Analyze and allocate weekly spending by account for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google advertising.Act as marketing's financial liaison with the finance team; handle all purchasing for marketing department to include creation of purchase orders, sole source letters, facilitating the approval of advertising contracts, and onboarding new vendors.Pay all bills and ensure all bills are paid by fiscal year end.Prepare weekly procard statements.AdministrationPrepare expense reports and reimbursement requests for staff in the UWC2 marketing department.Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, accounting, business or related field AND 2-3 years' experience ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Relevant finance or marketing operations (budget management) experienceAdvanced level of ExcelStrong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalSelf-motivated and able to build new processes with minimal guidanceStrong organization and project management skillsDESIRED:Experience with Smartsheet softwareMedia buying experienceExperience with SQLCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTApplication Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
