The position reports to the Executive Director and will be mentored by a primary figurehead of the organization. Marketing Coordinator Core Job Responsibilities:
Manage the marketing calendar for events, programs and other key projects
Support the organization and all departments on the delivery of marketing initiatives, in digital, print, social media, and other channels
Manage and coordinate all marketing and communication initiatives, to drive membership, conference attendance, increase engagement, increase website traffic and brand awareness.
Develop and implement member recruitment and retention plan to increase membership and reinforce benefits to existing members
Administer day-to-day marketing activities -- including planning, designing and production -- of all conference and educational events marketing and advertising materials including but not limited to advanced mailings, direct-mail pieces, broadcast emails (text, HTML), Social Media, website updates, Media Kit, press releases, sponsorship and advertising publications, and other related collateral
Oversee COMMON Web site content. Find new and creative ways to use the Web to increase outreach, attract new visitors, and reduce cost.
Develop and implement Social Media strategies to increase awareness of products, brand, and awareness
Develop content, manage edits and perform interviews for COMMON’s website, events, emails, publications, and social media
Develop and maintain annual marketing communication plans for existing and new products, to include advertising, news releases, trade show participation, mailings, brand management and promotion through any other outlets that create demand for our products
Partner with other Staff and Committees to refine existing product offerings and develop new products to meet changing needs of membership.
Provide regular updates to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors
Manage Marketing budget
Evaluate our marketing return on investment (ROI) and member feedback on a regular basis and incorporate necessary changes into future marketing plans.
Provide executive speech writing and presentation support to the COMMON President and other officers as needed.
Manage media relations and manage media registration and press conferences at applicable events.
Perform design tasks in relation to advertising, email, and publications.
Manage sales and fulfillment of advertising programs.
Collaborate with other departments on database maintenance.
Identify and manage high-quality marketing and production contractors to produce key deliverables.
Serve as a marketing interface and provide support to other committees as needed.
Attend trade shows and represent COMMON professionally as needed.
Communicate key organizational information to members

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required.
A minimum of five years’ experience working in a Marketing role with broad responsibilities.
Three plus years working in an association marketing and/or communications role preferred
Knowledge of IT industry is a plus
Familiar with basic sales processes
Strong interpersonal, presentation, oral and written skills
Working knowledge of, and ability to implement, marketing strategies, concepts and best practices
Strong knowledge of Social Media strategies and implementation
Ability to develop and manage budgets is a plus
Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives
Strong project management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a small-staff environment
Self-motivated with ability to execute on business objectives
Digital marketing experience and/or skills (understand how to use modern digital marketing and sales tools)
Proficient in a Windows 10 environment, Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook, as well as Web development software (HTML) such as WordPress.
Experience with Informz (marketing automation) and iMIS (association management software) a plus.
Comfortable with database management.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Experience with design, printing/production, and independent contractor oversight
