Role: This role sits within the EMEA and APAC C&IS (Asset Servicing) International RFP Team.
The RFP (Request for Proposal) team is responsible for compiling responses to complex bid and proposal documents for prospective and existing Northern Trust clients as part of a procurement, rebid or due diligence process. The RFP team works alongside the sales and relationship management teams to formulate compelling responses in order to win and retain business.
We are seeking to recruit a writer whose primary responsibility will be new business questionnaires from prospective clients. These prospects will include pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, corporates, insurance companies and investment managers across the spectrum of fund types.
The services covered will include, but not be limited to, global custody; investment accounting; fund accounting; transfer agency; trustee and depositary; middle office outsourcing; risk and compliance; performance measurement; cash management; securities lending and transition management.
Excellent written English skills are essential, as is an ability to manage projects within a deadline-driven environment. Product knowledge of global custody, fund administration or other asset servicing products would be a benefit.
Previous RFP experience is not a requirement, but is favourable. Based in the C&IS (Corporate and Institutional Services) business unit, this role will provide an opportunity to interface with experts across the Asset Servicing and Wealth Management teams.
Managing the response process from kick-off meeting to despatch of final response documents, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
Using the RFP database and other resources to research and prepare responses
Tailoring standard responses for individual clients
Working with subject-matter-experts, sales and relationship teams to source information
Ensuring new and updated information is added to the RFP database
Liaising with other business areas to maintain the factual content of the RFP database
Researching opportunities to create new RFP database files for new products and services Skills / Experience:
Knowledge and Skills
An excellent standard of written English and the ability to edit and tailor text to ensure accuracy, consistency and readability
The ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, to multi-task and to manage conflicting priorities
Strong MS Word skills
A working knowledge of the broad asset servicing/global custody needs of corporate clients, investment managers and financial institutions
Experience and Qualification
Previous experience in an asset servicing RFP role is not required
