Project HOPE is looking for a Director, Brand Marketing reporting to the VP, Chief Development/Communications Officer. This position will be responsible for developing marketing strategies and plans that establish and increase brand presence for Project HOPE. With a focus on increasing profile, raising awareness and engaging all audiences the Director, Brand Marketing will be responsible for implementing engagement marketing strategies. S/he will have proven expertise in programs that increase traffic to the website, increase leads for fundraising, engage audiences through compelling storytelling and assist in driving achievement toward reaching donor and revenue growth.
We are looking for a creative leader with experience working to: increase brand strength, creative execution, audience information and digital excellence. The ideal candidate will manage the relationship with Project HOPE’s internal teams to ensure accurate and authentic delivery of the brand and produce purpose-built content to distribute via owned digital channels. This includes creating a strong brand and engagement audience strategy; cause marketing; social media advertising; SEO, website, events and creative.
S/he will lead a small team including a Manager, Events; Creative Specialist and Digital. The Director is responsible for the success of individual and team growth and performance to reach annual goals of increased influence, reach and engagement.
The position is located in Millwood, VA (about 15 miles from Winchester, VA) with the opportunity to work out of our metro-accessible Bethesda, MD office.
Develop the brand strategy to increase brand awareness, relevance, differentiation and strength.
Lead and manage the new brand re-design and position.
Develop the go-to-market strategy to attract new followers, leads, donors in order to take an action.
Manage the website, content, video and storytelling and activate the brand through strategic brand relationships.
Produce brand creative concepts, templates, collateral and key signature pieces.
Act as the brand expert and day-to-day contact, serving as brand guidance for organization
Interface with senior leadership, fundraising, communications, direct response agencies and legal teams.
Monitor and report out on creative, competitive, media landscape and provide insights and innovative ideas and opportunities to the organization.
Lead events and annual Gala strategy and implementation.
Effective leadership of team and cross-functional team representation.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing direct reports
Experience presenting to senior leadership, board of director and agencies
Experience in digital including social strategy, influencer strategies, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, Ad Words
Must be results and detail-oriented
Demonstrated ability to react effectively to unanticipated circumstances, opportunities, and competing situations
Ability to travel international and domestic up to 20%.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when required—including evenings, weekends, holidays or long hours to meet fundraising commitments
Experience working in non-profit, NGO or International sector
Experience working in ad agency or digital agency
Experience as creative lead
Excellent judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills
