Temporary Marketing Specialist (Hybrid eligible)
Temporary Assignment ending in July 2026, non-benefits eligible
Up to 40 hours per week, November 2025 - April 2026
Up to 10-19 hours a week, May 2026 - July 2026.
$40 - $52 per hour (depending on region, qualifications, and experience)
Stanford’s Online High School is an accredited, diploma-offering, highly selective independent high school, offering courses for grades 7-12. Stanford Online High School is also the home of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), which offers a diverse array of academic enrichment programs. Held both online and on-campus, SPCS programs serve academically motivated pre-college students from around the world.
The Marketing Specialist plays an important role in ensuring the SPCS Programs execute marketing objectives across social media platforms, email campaigns, and digital content channels.
Please note that the Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus, and summer programs take place on the historic campus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement integrated marketing communications and brand strategy across a variety of communication methods, including website, email, social media, and advertisements.
- Draft, coordinate, edit, and schedule communications for prospective students and current students for a variety of channels (i.e., web, print, email, online).
- Write and manage multiple drip email campaigns in Slate
- Copyedit materials and communications for multiple programs.
- Update website content and participant guides to provide accurate information to prospective and enrolled participants.
- Manage social media accounts by scheduling posts and engaging with followers.
- Assist with organizing and promoting events, such as webinars or information sessions; coordinate scheduling, logistics, and operate events to support marketing objectives.
- Serve as contact with internal and external vendors.
- Process marketing invoices and track expenses.
- Provide support for digital asset management; organize photography and videography for program promotion.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree, and one year of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience in digital marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
- Ability to interpret and integrate feedback from team members and managers.
Preferred skills include:
- Demonstrated experience with social media management and email marketing.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and brand voice.
- Basic knowledge of marketing performance metrics and data interpretation.
- Ability to work independently, organize multiple projects, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Creative thinker and proactive communicator with a collaborative mindset.
- Eager to learn new technologies and explore evolving digital platforms.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including students, faculty, staff, and external audiences.
- Technology: Proficiency with Google Drive applications and Adobe Creative Cloud. Familiarity with Slate is a plus.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekend or evening events during summer programs.
The expected pay range for this position is $40 - $52 per hour, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
