Responsibilities
The Strategic Product Manager in many ways is a nexus, manoeuvring across many moving parts of the organisation and connecting the product line strategy to the market.

OBJECTIVES / MAIN ACTIVITES
• Outbound Communications:
o Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and non-customers
o Communicate trends and advancements within the information technology industry, and specifically systems solutions to stakeholders
o Present product vision to customers and support regional business opportunities
o Act as the outbound communicator to Hexagon customers and internal sales
• Product Requirements Definition
o Actively complete market and industry research to identify and report on trends; identify market gap or problem, target customer type, compelling advantages, revenue opportunity etc. and report on findings
o Analyze potential partner relationships for the product
o Manage the entire product lifecycle from inception (product definition and strategic planning) to delivery (tactical activities)
o Work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements
o Drive a solution set across development teams, primarily development and engineering, and marketing communications
o Maintain a high level of product knowledge as an expert to maximise user experience and customer satisfaction
• Go To Market and Commercials
o Assist with pricing and commercial strategy for products/solution
o Work with sales teams for new and/or existing clients and partners to define their requirements and specify an optimum solution for subsequent development and provide skills transfer where required
o Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
Education / Qualifications
• 3+ years of software product Management experience
• Solution architect knowledge and experience. BS/MS software/technical degree in related field
• Comprehensive knowledge of technology and trends
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, conceptually strong
• Demonstrated knowledge utilizing a variety of information sources to gain insight to understand client enquiries and devise practical solutions
• Experienced in presenting complex technical solutions to customers and stakeholders
POSITION SPECIFIC SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Experience as a solution architect
• Knowledge of local government, public safety, utilities, telecommunications, emergency management, and/or public works organizations
• This role requires travel both nationally and internationally to customer and non-customer sites
• Commercial software production or project implementation experience will be advantageous
