Department Overview
The Data Knowledge Department (DKD) functions as a master data hub, managing and expanding catalog data to support the business growth of various services within Rakuten. The rich catalog data we provide is a critical element that enables the acceleration and enhancement of new service development, serving as a vital component of data-driven business practices at Rakuten.
Our team, Competitor Intelligence Section (CIS), is dedicated to creating innovative solutions by leveraging both master data and external data. Through the provision of valuable insights and intelligence to internal business users, we support informed decision-making and contribute to the overall success of Rakuten's diverse business initiatives.

Position Details
- Organize business requirements and define specifications, clarifying both business and technical perspectives (including functional and non-functional requirements).
- Support data-driven decision-making, contributing to strategy formulation and improvements in operational efficiency.
- Strategically collect and analyze competitive data to enhance business competitiveness.
- Create knowledge and insights using AI and catalog data to support internal decision-making.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in product management, marketing, consulting or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills for competitive analysis or interpreting data to solve problems.
- Fundamental knowledge and collaboration skills to understand client needs and effectively manage and execute projects.
Desired Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, marketing, computer science, engineering or a related discipline).
- Experience in managing the product design, development, release, and subsequent improvement processes in the e-commerce industry.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience in process management from product design, development to release and subsequent improvements in the e-commerce industry would be a plus.
