Description
You don't want a busy-work internship. You want to be in the room where real AI products get built, shipped, and used by millions of people. The Company
Sendbird is on a mission to build the AI workforce of tomorrow. For over a decade, we built the infrastructure behind conversations-chat, voice, video, messaging APIs-and became the #1 CPaaS platform for in-app communications. 4,000+ brands trust us. 7 billion messages flow through our platform every month. 300 million monthly active users.
We powered conversations for DoorDash, Match Group, Noom, Yahoo Sports, Rakuten, and thousands of others. We were good at what we did. Really good.
We also saw it early: AI would fundamentally reshape how businesses talk to customers. The infrastructure we'd spent a decade building would become commoditized. The value would move up the stack-into intelligence, into experience, into outcomes.
We had a choice: protect what we built, or reinvent ourselves.
We chose reinvention.
In December 2024, we made the full strategic pivot to AI-first customer experience. By February 2025, we'd launched our AI agent for enterprise CX-built on a decade of conversation data, now with intelligence on top. And in November 2025, we rebranded to delight.ai.
The name says it all. AI's real promise isn't efficiency or cost savings. It's giving customers back something they lost-the feeling of being truly understood and cared for. Not satisfied. Delighted.
The Product
Delight.ai is the AI concierge for customer experience. Most AI agents forget you the moment the conversation ends. Ours doesn't. Delight.ai builds memory over time, learns preferences, and connects context across every channel-chat, SMS, email, voice, WhatsApp-without losing the thread. We're building AI that makes customers feel understood, seen, and remembered.
Why AI Agent Product Intern
Most AI internships put you behind documentation or test cases. This one doesn't. We're in the middle of a full-company transformation, pivoting from communications infrastructure to intelligent AI agents, and we need someone who can move fast, think clearly, and contribute from day one. The AI Agent platform is one of Sendbird's top initiatives. It's where our next decade gets built.
You'll sit alongside the product team, work directly with engineers and designers, and get hands-on with the tools, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks, that are reshaping how businesses serve customers. You already use AI to build and think faster. Now do it on something that matters.
The Role
You'll work directly with the AI Agent Product Manager to build, test, and deploy intelligent agents across real customer use cases. This is not a passive role. You'll contribute to product decisions, own pieces of the roadmap, and see your work ship. The right person is already using AI tools daily, comfortable with ambiguity, and genuinely excited about what AI can do for customers.
You might be this person if:
- You already use AI tools, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar, as a core part of how you work and build, not just occasionally.
- You read about LLMs, agent frameworks, or AI product design in your own time, not because you have to, but because you can't help it.
- You think in user journeys. You naturally ask "what does the customer actually experience here?" before jumping to solutions.
- You ship things. Even small things. You've built a side project, launched something, or taken an idea from zero to something real, with AI in the loop.
- You write clearly. When you document something, people actually read it.
- You're comfortable not knowing the answer, but you know how to find it fast, often by prompting your way to a solution.
- You treat iteration as a feature, not a failure. You'd rather launch and learn than wait for perfect.
- You ask questions that make people think. You don't just take the brief at face value.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in AI and ML, specifically conversational AI, LLMs, or agent-based systems.
- Demonstrated AI fluency: you actively use AI tools to research, build, or solve problems, and can speak to how.
- An analytical mindset. Comfortable using data and user feedback to form a point of view.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work across global, cross-functional teams.
- Build and deploy AI agents on Sendbird's platform, integrating them with real customer systems alongside the PM and engineering team.
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, synthesize findings, and draft artifacts faster than a traditional intern workflow allows.
- Conduct market, user, and competitive research to sharpen the AI Agent's positioning and surface new opportunities.
- Evaluate and benchmark AI technologies, including LLMs like Claude, GPT, and Gemini, RAG pipelines, TTS solutions, and vector stores, then document findings for the team.
- Draft PRDs, collect internal feedback, and track performance metrics for new feature launches.
- Contribute to weekly product reviews and OKR check-ins with concrete insights that keep execution on track.
- Prepare demos, presentations, and customer-facing materials that communicate the AI Agent vision clearly and compellingly.
- Support 0-to-1 initiatives, taking new ideas from concept to shipped product with the team behind you.
- Prior experience building something from scratch. A product, a project, anything you took from idea to launch.
- Hands-on exposure to agent frameworks, LLM pipelines, or AI tooling in any capacity, including personal projects or coursework.
- Experience using agentic tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or workflow automation platforms like Make, Zapier, or n8n to ship something real.
We offer a flexible work schedule at Sendbird. We also value collaboration and relationship building. With those values in mind, we require all employees to gather with their team in the office three days per week as a minimum. Some of our roles require a more frequent in-office schedule. Please work with your manager to understand the office time requirements for your position.
What diversity and inclusion mean to us
There is no such thing as a perfect candidate and the best employees come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets. Sendbird is a place where everyone can learn and grow. We respect, promote, and encourage diversity for equal employment opportunities and encourage you to apply if this role excites you.
Why Sendbird
We're not iterating on an existing product. We're rebuilding what customer experience means in an AI-first world, and we're doing it with a decade of data, infrastructure, and trust that no startup can replicate. This is a rare chance to join a company mid-reinvention, contribute to something real, and come out the other side knowing exactly how great AI products get built.
