Role Overview
As our Group Product Manager for the Fraud Detection Systems team, you will be responsible for fraud prevention strategy across orders, sellers, reviews, and platform integrity. This role will own the charter to safeguard customer trust and platform health by building world-class, ML-driven detection systems, operational frameworks, and cross-org alignment mechanisms such as Fraud, Risk, Operations, Data Analystics, and Software Engineering.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the Fraud Detection Strategy, covering fake orders, fake reviews, rank abuse, counterfeit, coupon stacking, low-value order abuse, and seller collusion.
- Build scalable frameworks to measure fraud severity, risk ratios, and business impact (e.g., SRADR, APR, WFV).
- Establish a multi-year roadmap balancing proactive prevention with real-time detection
Execution & Delivery
- Lead development of next-gen fraud detection platforms leveraging ML, rule-based systems, and actor linkages.
- Drive end-to-end product lifecycle-from ideation, prioritization, and design to experimentation, rollout, and scaling.
- Partner with Search, FO, Returns, and Seller Ops to ensure fraud signals feed into customer-facing experiences (e.g., search suppression, returns friction, account actions).
Cross-functional Leadership
- Align senior stakeholders on fraud risk appetite, thresholds, and business tradeoffs.
- Build governance models for fraud review cadences, dashboards, and accountability.
- Act as the voice of FDS in executive reviews, escalations, and cross-org forums.
Qualifications:
- Successful track record of developing innovate new products, and taking them to market.
- Experience creating product roadmap(s) from conception to launch, driving the product vision, defining the GTM strategy, and leading design discussions.
- Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction for large scale systems
- Hands on experience working in an agile environment with a rapid iteration cadence (Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly).
- Track record of using data and quantitative research methodologies to inform decision-making across the entire product design process/ lifecycle.
- Understanding of the complexities of a marketplace/consumer platform model.
- Experience working with multiple teams across different geographies.
- Startup experience OR experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Domain expertise in any of the following: Fraud, eCommerce
