Job Summary + Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a Founding Product Manager to help shape the product direction, execution rhythm, and early product culture at Vertex Software Corporation.
Vertex builds high-impact software and AI-powered platforms for startups and global enterprises. As our Founding Product Manager, you'll work at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and execution - turning ideas into scalable, user-loved products.
You'll collaborate directly with leadership, engineering, and design teams to define product vision, establish structure where there's ambiguity, and drive momentum from concept to launch.
This role suits a strong PM who has helped startups grow, thrives in fast moving environments, and wants to take ownership of building something enduring. You're curious, analytical, and confident leading conversations across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for new Vertex-led products and client platforms
- Partner with leadership, design, and engineering to build, iterate, and scale high-value software products
- Lead user research, market validation, and customer discovery for new initiatives
- Translate insights and business goals into clear requirements, priorities, and sprint
objectives
- Manage agile product cycles and ensure high-quality delivery within scope and timelines
- Use data and feedback to measure outcomes and guide product iteration
- Build and refine lightweight product processes and rituals that enable speed and clarity
- Represent product thinking in internal and client discussions and influence decision-making with data and insight

Requirements
Requirements & Skills
Must Haves
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 2 years in a startup or
early-stage product environment
- Proven track record of helping a product or company achieve measurable traction or
growth
- Deep understanding of end-to-end product lifecycle management and agile development
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and business stakeholders
- Analytical and data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-changing environments where initiative and clarity matter most
Bonus
- Experience in AI, SaaS, or B2B software products
- Familiarity with go-to-market planning, pricing, or growth experiments
- Exposure to mentoring, team leadership, or early process building
- Background or comfort with software engineering, data, or UX design principles
