At the same time, we are committed to innovating and designing new products in line with the values of our Houses, through a process of permanent creativity.MAIN PURPOSE
Based on strong category, market & client knowledge, the Product Manager is the referent for their category, in terms of action planning, business development and product expertise, for all stakeholders internally and externally.
In line with the company's vision, they participate in and lead category projects at short, medium and long-term horizon, cross-functionally in coordination with other departments, boutique and central teams. They are responsible for the category performance, and will be expected to give an insightful POV leading to impactful actions solidifying the positioning of the brand in Japan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITY 1 - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
DRIVE THE CATEGORY GROWTH
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of entire product scope of the category. Has a strong understanding of the competitive environment, the clients and audiences, the business and its operations. Can compile reporting both based on template and ad hoc.
- Demonstrates acute client-centric mindset, in providing timely and efficient support to sales staff, by understanding the stakes of client-facing boutique operations.
- Supervises the sales analysis process: follow-up of business activity by product category/collection and recommends action plans out of it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY 2 - STRATEGIC PLANNING
LEAD STRATEGIC BRIEFS AND ACTION PLANS
- Understands the history and evolution of the Maison at large, the Cartier Japan vision and the mission of own team in achieving it. Acts to reflect beauty and individuality in all projects.
- Understands the local strategic direction and how it contributes to the global direction. Capable of understanding the difference between a fad, trend and culture. Able to recognize and communicate what is and is not an insight.
- Constantly curious about own work and its creative impact. Is able to articulate qualitative feedback and constructive requests about the business. Can provide constructive feedback during team and project discussions leading to innovative solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY 3 - CROSS-FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
DELIVER IMPACT FOR OUR AUDIENCES (internal & external)
- Able to deliver a clear and thorough roadmap for multiple projects and understand the key timelines throughout. Demonstrates clear understanding of the tools and processes required in the project and how to input KPIs and measurement factors into the process.
- Demonstrates strong organization and time management skills in being able to balance different project timelines and operations in parallel.
- Some key projects may include (tentative): annual commercial events ; punctual boutique activations ; new campaign launches ; community animation ; internal communication initiatives ; boutique support ; etc...
Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in business development, marketing, advertising, consulting or similar fields- Strategic planning background
- Experience in luxury is a plus but not mandatory
SKILLS:
Proactive and dare to challenge status quo
Critical thinking
Project management (multiple simultaneous projects of different scales and timelines)
- Analytical and numerical mindset
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Client-centric mindset
- Japanese and English fluency, French or any other language is a plus
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. PowerBI, SAP is a plus.
