- Business Development Coordinator
Description
The Business Development Coordinator will provide support for the Public Policy and International Trade practices, as well as for the DC office and other practices and industries as needed. Working closely with the Business Development Managers (BDM) the BD Coordinator will support the coordination of business development and marketing activities including proposals and development of marketing collateral, case/experience tracking and reporting, directory submissions, awards & accolades, digital marketing, events, presentations, client research, and other related activities.
This individual understands and leverages department, office, and other firm resources to support and promote the firm's market presence related to name recognition, brand awareness and revenue growth.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with relevant BD managers, marketing team and office staff to ensure successful planning, execution, and measurement of DC based Firm events, including knowledge-based events, webinars and client entertainment that have business development as a core focus. This includes: Pre-event planning and logistics; liaising with the site on requirements and contracts
Budgeting and tracking associated costs; seeking approvals and providing coding of BD funding requests - Assisting with the development, design, writing and production of related print and electronic promotional materials including invitations, website postings, signage, PPTs and handouts. This includes initial drafting of proposals and other follow-up correspondence for current and potential clients
- Developing and maintaining event-related contact and mailing lists
- Coordinating with vendors on the selection and production of event-related items such as branded giveaways, gifts, banners, and other display material
- Assisting with post-event follow-up and tracking lead generation; and ensuring participant follow-up
- Coordinating with Legal Personnel on submitting CLE credit for events as appropriate
- Working or attending the event if required
- Providing support for RFP and proposals and other client-focused revenue growth opportunities.
- Managing and tracking pitch and proposal activity for the practices, including updating the pitch log for all pitch/proposal activity (WON / LOST) and reporting details as appropriate.
- Preparing and updating practice group materials as well as collateral materials for pitch meetings
- Take the lead for updating relevant practice matter tracking databases.
- Assisting with the tracking and management of the submission process, directories, awards, distinctions, and surveys.
- Serving as a point person for the production of advertising and marketing material supply needs.
- Working alongside the Practice Group BDMs in the development, production, and circulation of marketing material.
- Working alongside the legal secretaries and central digital marketing team to manage mailing lists.
- Assisting with the development, administration and reporting on business development operating budgets.
- Coordinating the smooth implementation of baseline requirements for new laterals such as bios/profiles, photos, news releases, electronic announcements etc.
- Assisting with presentations, including PowerPoint and other materials.
- Working with the firm's Research Team, preparing detailed client research in advance of business development opportunities.
We require an Associates' degree, a minimum of two years of marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We require fluency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint programs and webinar tools and technology. Law firm experience is preferred. Prior events experience preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills and work well with others in a team environment.
The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $88,000, depending on skills and experience. Squire Patton Boggs offers comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, life, 401(k).
