This position is responsible for representing ASAE media options to technology companies that offer products and services to associations. The role assists technology companies with navigating ASAE while increasing their sales success with associations.
The proactive individual thrives in a fast-paced, high volume work environment and is a professional who works collaboratively with a diverse group of staff across the organization to create success for industry partners. Individual should be able to bring new sales concepts to the organization so that, when possible, non-traditional strategies and advertising options can be implemented.
This a full time staff position that offers salary, benefits, plus performance based commission and annual bonus opportunity.
Essential Functions -
Achieve sales targets on monthly and annual basis.
Consulting with company representatives to develop an understanding of their target market, sales objectives and marketing plans. Obtain information about clients products, needs, problems, advertising history and business practices to offer effective marketing options and appropriate product assistance.
Working with advertising agencies to increase their awareness of the media options available to their clients.
Preparing marketing proposals for technology companies to help them develop leads from associations. Preparing and delivering sales presentations to new and existing accounts to sell new advertising schedules and to increase existing customer engagement.
Develop a pipeline of prospects for sponsorship opportunities.
Attending industry trade shows as a source of lead generation for future advertising prospects
Develop professional relationships and networks so that customers view you as an advisor and not as a sales agent.
Develop a deep understanding of ASAE’s digital options and be able to master the technical knowledge necessary to successfully sell these products.
Efficiently manage account information through a CRM and manage all paperwork and correspondence related to sales.

Communicating clearly, effectively and persuasively with accounts, ad agencies as well as with staff inside the organization. Translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used. Must be exceptional on phone, email and in person.
Ability to think creatively and transfer this to proposal writing and presentations.
Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish your work.
Ability to sell media through relationship based sales as well as transactional based opportunities.
Handling problems, settling disputes and resolving conflicts or otherwise proficient at negotiating with others.
Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best possible solution to a problem.
Supervisory Responsibility -
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment -
Ability to work independently and in a multi-level team environment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work -
This is a Full-time position occasionally requiring evenings and weekends.
Frequent local travel with occasional travel outside the immediate region.
Preferred Education and Experience -
The ideal candidate has 3 – 5 years minimum media sales experience.
Has a basic understanding of technology adaptation within the broad association community.
Has demonstrated increasing sales responsibilities, sales volume and a record of success.
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, Communication or related field
