Director, Public Relations and Marketing
Reporting to the Director of Health Communication Programs, the Director, Public Relations and Marketing is a critical, highly strategic senior role overseeing CCP's global brand, reputation, communications, and philanthropy. The Director is responsible for strategies to shape CCP's brand and reputation, engage key audiences, create high-impact content, and increase and diversify philanthropic support.
The Director is positive, creative and nimble leader as well as a team-builder. The Director serves on CCP's Leadership Group and actively engages in all aspects of the organization's strategic and operational leadership.
The Director is responsible for communications and marketing to a wide range of key stakeholders, particularly among three priority audiences: global health and development thought leaders and influencers, implementing partners, and donors. The Director advises the Executive Director as well as CCP program leaders in more than 30 countries.
The Director oversees CCP's website and online communication channels, event and conference participation, production of marketing communications, media relations, and ensures graphic design, signature print and online content, and social media adhere to Johns Hopkins University brand standards.
Manage and expand CCP's external profile and reputation through oversight of marketing, communications, media relations, and executive and internal communications. Establish a strategic operating plan, budget and calendar for PR & Marketing as well as metrics for measuring success.
Participate actively on CCP's Leadership Group and contribute to decisions regarding organization goals, priorities and strategies. In partnership with leadership team, create a positive, collaborative and high-performance work environment supported by innovative use of technology, creative approaches to content production, and proactive, coordinated media outreach.
Collaborate closely and build plans with technical leaders and senior program staff in Baltimore and overseas. Serve as an ambassador with key constituents, including the media, partners, donors, and professional associations. Serve as CCP's primary media spokesperson. Train CCP staff on communications, marketing and PR strategies. Supervise 2 communications staff and associated budget.
