This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Under general direction, the Marketing and Conference Housing Services Coordinator (MCHSC) is responsible for the ongoing marketing program to attract and retain students to live on the SDSU campus, as well as, the operation of conference services program for the residence hall facilities.
The MCHSC implements an ongoing marketing program both on and off campus to maintain occupancy and, thereby, enhance the student success rate. The MCHSC recommends for approval new marketing initiatives to the Director, as needed. The MCHSC will lead and train student assistants as needed on marketing in general and as it relates to specific campaigns. The MCHSC will coordinate the completion of all marketing work including the production and distribution of traditional and electronic marketing materials and all social media.
During the three-month summer conference season, the MCHSC schedules and arranges logistical support for conference use of the residence halls. During this period, the MCHSC must be on call 24 hours a day, 7-days a week. Under the direction of the Director of Housing Administration, the MCHSC will coordinate the hiring, training and lead work of a staff of 35 students, develop and update conference manuals, booklets and related forms, coordinate the inventory of conference housing services and supplies, and interface with Aztec Shops Conference Services Coordinator as per contract obligations.
