Positions in this function are involved in developing market strategies to support products and drive membership / sales growth. Positions develop strategies and tactical plans to support consumer / member innovation, support new product and program launches, and combat competitive pressures. May analyze economic considerations, develop marketing forecasts, estimate costs, and manage program / project budgets.
Analyze customer behavior to drive understanding of current and future customer and market needs
Conduct / utilize market research and competitive analyses (e.g., strength, weaknesses, strategies) to drive understanding of business requirements and development of marketing strategy
Demonstrate understanding of applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Healthcare Reform / PPACA, state contracts, CMS)
Define target markets or customer groups and their specific requirements
Demonstrate understanding of applicable products and services
Develop understanding of applicable sales channels (e.g., consultants, brokers, trade groups) to drive marketing strategy Perform analysis of customer and business requirements to drive development of marketing strategies (e.g., budgets)
Develop / implement long- and short-term marketing strategies / goals in alignment with applicable business goals (e.g., revenue goals, membership goals, conversion metrics, campaign budgets)
Align marketing initiatives / campaigns with applicable business goals / objectives, as well as the needs of identified target populations / clients
Develop trusting relationships with customers / clients / members to inform our marketing efforts and help improve our understanding of the customer experience
Identify and leverage appropriate marketing channels to communicate marketing messages
Foster relationships with external stakeholders to nurture / support loyalty, retention and understanding of our marketing efforts (e.g., ad agencies, community agencies, clients, professional associations, educational institutions, regulatory agencies)
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects / deadlines at once
Outgoing, professional and friendly, willing to spend time talking to potential members, current members and community groups / organizations that work with our target audience
