The Marketing Communications Specialist translates complex clinical and health industry information into physician-and patient-friendly language for a variety of channels, in both print and digital form. A meticulous wordsmith, the position writes for audiences of differing backgrounds and education levels—from physicians, hospital leaders and lab scientists to patients and employees. With a keen eye for basic grammatical and formatting principles, the Marketing Communications Specialist is able to create engaging professional documents while ensuring that materials are accurate, clear, and brand-aligned. This position is also responsible for managing the corporate social media accounts and content strategy.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Works with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to write copy and content for numerous audiences and channels, such as:
Patient education handouts
Blogs, e-newsletters, and social media posts
Sales brochures and other promotional materials
Operations documents and forms
Web and targeted email content
Works with graphic designer to translate document outlines into finished marketing collateral
Collaborates cross-departmentally to manage overall social media strategy and continuously identify, develop, and post brand-aligned content for blog posts, tweets, Facebook & LinkedIn updates, videos, newsletters, webinars, etc.
Proofreads and edits various materials for grammar, style, tone, and brand.
For less complex items, uses Word and/or InDesign to lay out basic documents.
Uses Google Analytics to interpret, summarize, and report digital analytics data for all True Health web platforms at regular intervals.
Completes additional Marketing duties as assigned.
Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations as well as True Health’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Responsibility, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or healthcare-related field
1-5 years of relevant experience
Ability to write engaging copy and content for diverse audiences
Experience managing multi-platform social media
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Strong oral and written communication skills
Scrupulous attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding deadlines
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of reading level assessment and plain language standards
Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare/wellness language preferred
Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop strongly preferred
Knowledge of HTML/CSS, WordPress, Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor preferred
