This job opening is for a Software Customer Application Engineer (CAE) in the Marketing and Customer Service, Technical Marketing Group supporting pre-sales activities of CODE V.
We are looking for a mid-level to senior optical engineer with hands on optical design experience to provide technical outreach and collateral for our products to existing and potential customers. Duties will include:
Producing, editing and presenting talks on subjects related to CODE V, such as overviews of the latest features, software strengths, novel use techniques, and engineering case studies, etc. Presentation forums will be at user-day events, individual customer sites, open webinars, and internal audiences.
Conducting customer tours to visit existing customers and prospects around the world. These visits are for presenting the latest developments and techniques for using CODE V and assisting customers with problems or questions they may have, and for gathering improvement requests and relaying those requests effectively to the Development group. Responsibility to include follow up and resolution of customer issues encountered during the tour.
Attending trade shows to assist in staffing the company booth and interacting with current and prospective customers.
Conducting advanced training classes in the use of our software to overseas customers in both Asia and Europe as well as assisting in the technical support staff with domestic training classes on an as-needed basis.
Producing and overseeing the production and submission of example models for the latest software versions.
Producing raw video content for short videos describing new features and software techniques for posting on our customer support portal.
Production of visually appealing images from the software as needed for use in marketing communications.
Assisting both sales and technical support with technical expertise on an as-needed basis.
This job will entail travel both domestically and in Asia and Europe. Approximately 20% - 30% of the time will be spent on travel, in one or two week increments.
The ideal candidate will have either a Masters or a PhD. in optics or a related field and 5 or more years’ hands-on experience working with imaging design software. The candidate must be able to quickly grasp technical issues for a wide variety of system types when meeting with customers on site. The candidate must have outstanding communications skills, both verbally and written, and be comfortable making technical presentation in front of large groups. They must be willing and able to travel overseas. Some experience in writing computer code in any language (vb.net, Python, Matlab, C++, etc) is a plus.
